DPI took part in the 11th session of the Conference of States Parties to the CRPD, under the theme “Leaving no one behind through the full implementation of the CRPD”.

DPI issued a statement to the 10th Conference of States Parties, calling to “open development to all, with no one left behind”.
23–24 May 2016 Tokyo, Japan
Co-hosted with DPI-Japan, the DPI Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly adopted the Tokyo Declaration and elected new regional executives.
21 March 2016 Cairo, Egypt
DPI’s 9th World Assembly, hosted in Cairo in partnership with the Arab Organization of Persons with Disabilities, produced the Cairo Declaration and marked DPI’s 35th anniversary.
10–13 October 2011 Durban, South Africa
Delegates from 66 countries adopted the Durban Declaration, calling on all States to ratify and implement the CRPD and its Optional Protocol.
5–8 September 2007 Seoul, Republic of Korea
Meeting months after the CRPD was adopted, 2,700 DPI delegates in Seoul declared the Convention the foundation for all laws and policies on the rights of persons with disabilities.
15–18 October 2002 Sapporo, Japan
More than 3,000 people from some 109 countries gathered in Sapporo and demanded a specific international convention on the rights of persons with disabilities.
